The Christmas Tree is up!

Like last year, Pines and Needles has kindly gifted us a Christmas tree! And like last year, it’s pretty good looking.

The tree was delivered a few days ago (thanks to my neighbour for housing it whilst I was out!) in the usual netting that I feel is synonymous with Christmas.

This was our tree last year:

And this is our tree this year!

I think how you decorate your tree really says a lot about your personality. There’s those that go a bit crazy and add as much glitz and glamour as possible. Minimalists who buy those weird twig looking trees and adorn it with odd looking, super modern “decorations.” There are the perfectionists who model their tree on The White Company and won’t let the children step near the bag of baubles let alone hang a squishy red, felt santa. Do you go uber-traditional and cover your tree in handmade at nursery paper angels? Multi-Coloured strings of beads and lines of tinsel.

I believe I’m the latter. Our tree probably looks an absolute mess to many people but I love it. Elsa and Emmeline decorated it with decorations we’ve collected over the last god knows how many years! We buy a few new ones each Christmas.

It’s quite funny because Elsa is becoming rather a perfectionist (she’ll totally be mirroring the semblance of The White Company tree one day) and when Emmeline placed a piece of tinsel somewhere, Elsa would then sneak over and move it!

Emmeline puts the 20th decoration in the same place…

Elsa sneakily moves it…

We were sent our tree by the St. Albans branch of Pines and Needles. They have trees of all sizes from 3ft right up to 12ft tall. We also received this water holding tree base which is great as the space for the tree base is very large so there’s no need to thin down the stump before screwing in the holding clamps.

Prices are good – Our 6ft Nordic Fir costs £59.95 which I don’t think is too bad. In fact, judging by prices around this way, it’s fantastic.

Pines and Needles also offer tree accessories such as bases, lights and decorations all of which can be purchased online. They pack each product up well and everything arrived in perfect condition.

I’d genuinely like to recommend their services to you all – I don’t ever endorse companies I haven’t had fantastic experiences with and these are definitely up there in terms of customer services, standard of work, friendliness and of course, quality of product. They’re great 🙂

HERE is a short video of Miss Emmeline decorating our tree. Sorry it’s so dark, we had the lights down because Emmeline (always in charge) wanted to see the fairy lights.

And finally…announcing the name of our 2018 tree…needless to say it was an Emmeline inspired name.

Have you got your tree yet? I’d love to see some pics.
