Me & I – review post

I have been sent some beautiful clothes from Swedish company, Me & I.

The company was started in 2004 by two friends who now see their clothing sell in five different countries. They use fantastically soft material in their entire range which is bought from responsibly manufactured producers in Portugal and Turkey.

Their clothing appealed to me as everything is really practical yet retains that element of style. They state that “the ladies wear should be versatile…that works for everyday as well as for smart occasions” which is certainly the case as the dress they sent me could be glammed up with some jewellery and heels or even worn in the day with flats and a denim jacket, it’s absolutely gorgeous!

I think I was most excited about the pockets (tragic but true). I’m not the kind of person who enjoys wearing evening wear so think this relaxed the whole dress for me and left me a lot more comfortable wearing it.

I love it, genuinely LOVE this dress.

The material clings but isn’t thick and uncomfortable and the seems lead up from the pockets in a really flattering way.

(Ignore the lighting here, I just wanted to show you the seam work)

Their sizings are pretty true to form. I’m generally I’m a size eight and ordered a small which they say will fits a ten-twelve; this dress was a little big but I didn’t feel it made a difference to the overall look. It retails at £54.95 and can be found on their website.

Their children’s range is fantastic. The colours are unique, bright, child-like and fun. I hate that many companies try to encourage our children to wear grown up clothes and refuse to let Elsa shop in certain places because I find their range too mature for someone her age. She’s eight, not old enough for teenage wear just yet in my eyes! God, I sound so old…

Anyway, I showed Elsa and she was immediately enthralled that there is no “girls” or “boys” section. If you click on “Kids” then it lists all the clothing by type but doesn’t deem them one gender or another. For a child like Elsa this is fabulous as she sometimes feels uncomfortable with choosing what she likes and this website takes that worry away. Yes, there are both boys and girls modelling the range but because there are no specific labels, it doesn’t feel quite so determined.

They kindly sent Elsa this sports jacket. Again the material is really soft and Elsa told me it feels very comfortable and that she wants to wear it over her athletics kit for training sessions. She has also worn it with leggings but in general it would go with absolutely loads of outfits.

Elsa wears clothing size nine-ten these days and this jacket is size 134/140 which they state fits eight – ten. I’d say this is true to size as it fits beautifully but will definitely last Elsa a little while.

This jacket can be found HERE and retails at  £35.95
