Vegan protein snacks

If I had a pound for every time I’m asked where I get my protein from, I’m be cruising around the Caribbean right now on my own private yacht!

Seriously, guys. Do you really think meat is the only (or best) way to get protein in your diet? How dull life would be if it were…

Anyway, I’m not going to start a protein rant BUT I am going to share with you a list of amazing protein-packed snacks that are great for when you are on the go.

I’m always hungry. Literally always. I eat throughout the day, in between meals and just before I go to bed. It’s probably a terrible habit but I can’t help myself. If I don’t eat as regularly as I do then I start to feel horribly faint so it’s important that I have snacks with me so I can just have a bite every now and then.

Naturally, I want these snacks to remain healthy, or as healthy as possible so I try to make everything from scratch. I know that in reality, this isn’t always possible. I have super busy days and sometimes I just have to grab something and throw it in my bag for later. We eat a lot of fruit in our family which is obviously full of protein, vitamins and minerals however…sometimes you just want to eat something that feels like a real treat.

Here are FIVE of the snacks I have tried (or want to try) that are full of protein and vitamins/minerals so I’m kept full for longer…

Fuel 10k Chocolate peanut butter

If I could live on one food, it would be this stuff. My god, it’s amazing!!! Chocolate and peanut butter. It’s super smooth and tastes great in a sandwich, on apple slices or just squeezed onto a spoon and into your mush. Not the most portable of snacks but it’s delish and I wanted to share it with you!

Nutree Life

These Nutree Life Protein Cubes come in a variety of delicious flavours and are great as a quick snack or pick me up. They’re individually wrapped so you can control portion sizes really easily. Individual cubes are perfect to keep in your gym bag for a post-workout snack or to keep in your bag for a quick vegan friendly treat when you’re on the go

Pulsin Orange and chocolate chip bar

Pulsin is a really fab make that you can buy easily from most supermarkets. I absolutely love their brownie bar but this chocolate orange one is gorgeous too. They also have a new porridge bar range out which sounds interesting.

Quinoa chips

These things are divine!!! Ok so not technically your standard health food but I wanted to include them as they are something that everyone in my family loves. These crisps are sour cheese and chive flavoured and high in protein because of the quinoa. Again, you can buy these in supermarkets in the “free from” section.

Trek Cocoa oat protein flapjack

My girls love these! Each flapjack has a layer of chocolate on top so that’s the seller for Emmeline. She’ll eat any food that is coated in chocolate (not a theory I have tested yet but am pretty certain to be true) and these are always a winner in her book. You can buy these in the “free from” section of most supermarkets. Delish!

Clearly I have a love of chocolate considering the list above is mostly chocolate based but all of the above products have different flavours so there is something for everyone.

Have you tried any awesome snacks recently?
